Healthy Swaps You Can Make Today To Feel Great!

If you’re feeling a bit rundown and want to turn your day around, you’re in the right place. We’re here with some healthy swaps you can do today to break the habits that don’t make you feel your best and replace them with ones that your body and mind will love, from swapping smoking for nicopods and making more conscious decisions about what we consume and how we move our bodies. These are small swaps that can make all the difference and you’ll thank yourself for it later!

Less Sugary Drinks More Water

First up, we’d recommend you reduce your intake of sugary drinks and replace it with water. Consuming too much sugar can cause so many health problems, like weight gain, diabetes, chronic diseases, tooth decay and so much more, as well as causing spikes in your energy that then cause you to crash. Instead, try swapping a few out for glasses of water. If you don’t like water, infuse it with some fruit to add some flavour. Water is absolutely vital for all elements of  our minds and bodies to function properly, so you will find that when you’re well hydrated as well as drinking less sugary drinks, you’ll have more consistent energy throughout the day and generally you’ll feel better within yourself.

Less Vaping/Smoking

Next, if you smoke or vape, try to reduce your intake today. We all know that it’s not good for us, but quitting can be easier said than done, so try to incorporate some healthier smoking alternatives like Velo or nicotine gum. You’ll still get your nicotine hit to help with the physical cravings, but it helps to protect your lungs. Also, we’d advise that you use the time you’d have been vaping or smoking to get out in the fresh air, whether it’s a 10 minute walk on your lunch break or a quick walk after work to clear your head. This is such a positive change that can help to turn your day, and your life, around.

More Movement

Lastly, rather than sitting down all evening and binge watching TV, we’d recommend that you spend at least 30 minutes doing some kind of movement. Getting our bodies moving is so important for our mental and physical health, from helping our joints and bones to building muscle and keeping our major organs functioning well. When you take the time out of your day to prioritise yourself and your health, you’ll feel so much better for it afterwards. We’re not saying you need to go and do a super intense workout, especially not if you’re a beginner, but just do something you enjoy. Maybe meet a friend for a walk or a game of badminton. Perhaps you go for a bike ride or go to your local swimming pool for a swim. You might put a YouTube video on and do a guided workout. Perhaps you want to go weightlifting or do a fun gym class. There certainly isn’t just one right answer when it comes to getting your body moving and feeling good, so do what feels right and this will be a positive change to your day!
